Vegan Potluck Picnic in the Park

August 5, 2023 @ 12:30 pm 2:30 pm

NEW DATE: Please note that due to inclement weather, this event has been postponed from July 29 to August 5.

Join VegFest and Worcester Vegan Meetup for a fun and free vegan potluck/picnic at Worcester’s Green Hill Park.

Bring a vegan dish or drink(s) to share with the group. Food shared must be VEGAN – please include a note with the dish’s title and ingredients, as well as serving spoons and an ice pack to keep it cool if necessary. We will provide basic paper plates, napkins, forks/spoons.

If you are not able to cook or your recipe doesn’t turn out, no worries as a prepackaged vegan snack or fruit is an easy choice, but no pressure! Just come out and enjoy the day.

We will try to set up in one of the covered pavilions if one is open. Optional things to bring: a chair, picnic blanket, personal sun umbrella, sun hat, sunscreen, reusable water bottle, outdoors toys such as hula hoop, ball, etc.

Kids welcome! Attendees typically chat about upcoming vegan events, recipes, and get to know each other.

Let us know you’ll be there – RSVP on Facebook.

The event is FREE for the community with support from Worcester Vegan Meetup.

Donate to Our Plant-Based Food Drive

Help VegFest make plant-based food more accessible for all by bringing an item or two for our plant-based food drive to the potluck.

We’ll be donating the items to Woo Fridge, a local non-profit that makes food available to anyone in need through four community fridges located throughout the city of Worcester. Each fridge station also features a small pantry with non-refrigerated food.

Help VegFest stock the fridges and shelves with vegan food by bringing any of the following food items to our potluck:

  • Fresh produce
  • Unopened vegan frozen food
  • Prepackaged vegan frozen meals
  • Pantry staples such as vegan bread, sugar, flour, and canned goods etc
  • Packaged and labeled vegan cheese, milk, yogurts, etc
  • Packaged and labeled vegan proteins (tofu, hot dogs, deli slices, etc)

Please note that the community fridges cannot accept opened, homemade, or expired food.
